The European Union financed a support to Indonesia’s Climate Change Response (SICCR-TAC, MEUR 6.5; 2016 to 2019). The EU Technical Assistance aimed to contribute in an effective and coherent way to the implementation of the national Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD+) strategy by designing and mainstreaming provincial REDD+ strategies into existing development planning frameworks.

The main objectives of this SICCR-TAC evaluation were to provide the relevant services of the European Union, the interested stakeholders and the wider public with:

  • an overall independent assessment of the past performance of the SICCR-TAC, paying particular attention to its results measured against its expected objectives; and the reasons underpinning such results;
  • key lessons learned, conclusions and related recommendations in order to improve current and future actions.
