Background

The project is focused on ILUNION, a social enterprise in Spain dedicated to promoting employment for people with disabilities. ILUNION’s laundry division is a key area where the aim is to improve environmental sustainability, particularly through water efficiency and recycling strategies.

Objectives
  • To design and develop an effective water efficiency and recycling strategy for ILUNION’s laundry facilities.

  • To improve the environmental performance and sustainability of the laundry operations.

  • To assess potential water reuse both internally and externally in the laundry processes.

Activities
  • Data collection and analysis of selected laundries.

  • GAP analysis of water consumption patterns.

  • Review of technologies for process automation and monitoring.

  • Assessment of water reuse options, both for internal use and potential external sale.

  • Development of a cost-benefit analysis for implementing water reuse solutions.

  • Final proposal for water reuse strategy, including operation and maintenance considerations.

Project Position

Position Key Expert 1: Team Leader
Activities
  • Lead the development and coordination of water efficiency strategies

  • Oversee GAP analysis and implement technologies for water reuse.

Qualification

-Bachelor's degree in Civil or Industrial Engineering or a relevant field (e.g., chemistry)

  • At least 15 years of experience in the water sector

  • Proficiency in Spanish (CEFR C1).

Required Experience

General professional experience:

  • 15 years in water sector management.

Specific professional experience:

  • 10 years in industrial wastewater treatment.

  • Experience with water reuse in at least 5 studies, with 3 implemented.

  • Experience in the laundry industry preferred, with relevant experience in the last 5 years.
