Background

Prospect C&S is an independent consultancy company specialized in environment, climate action and rural development created in 1994. Its main areas of expertise are:

  • Environment management, policy & financing

  • Rural development & food security

Within Prospect C&S a team of bio-engineers and civil engineers make up the Climate Action Department. Over the years, the team has gained extensive experience in implementing specific studies or managing framework related contracts for various national and international clients. We have a vast experience of over 16 years of monitoring and evaluation of BENELUX and South East Europe projects within the EU LIFE Programme that includes the LIFE Climate Change strand as well. Prospect is also providing the Sector Coordinator for Climate in the running framework contract to assist DG ENV, EASME and DG Clima in the monitoring of the LIFE Projects and other related tasks. The Climate Action Department needs further reinforcement and therefore we are looking for a new collaborator.

Project Position

Position Programme Manager - Climate Action
Activities
  1. Contribute to the development and implementation of the Climate Action Department
  2. Promote project acquisition in the field of Climate adaptation and mitigation
  3. Responsible for the management of international Climate adaptation and mitigation projects
  4. Becoming involved into technical short-term assistance of projects where applicable, including the monitoring of LIFE Climate Change projects.
  5. Thematic expertise and strategic development of the department
  6. Assisting in the overall development of Prospect (improving the management, the expertise, the contacts and image of the company).
  7. Conforming with and actively supporting Prospect’s environmental and sustainability policy.
Qualification
  • A level of education which corresponds to a minimum master degree in the field of biology, ecology, forestry, conservation, natural resource management, bio-engineering or civil engineering.
Required Experience
  • More than 7 years of working experience in the EU and/or overseas.
  • Excellent understanding of climate adaption and mitigation issues, preferably including EU and international related policies.
  • Strong track record in managing consultancy work in climate change.
  • Strong previous experience in developing project proposals and winning contracts for international donors.
  • Experience in programme management, monitoring, financial planning and budgeting.
  • Strong international networking skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritize and take initiatives.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and French. Spanish would be an added advantage.
  • Good reporting skills.
