Assistance and technical support for the tasks related to actions under the LIFE programme

LIFE (L'Instrument Financier pour l'Environnement) is the main European Commission funding mechanism for improving the state of the environment in the European Union. The contract deals with the various brands of the LIFE Programme: LIFE-Environment, LIFE-Nature, LIFE-Information and LIFE Third Countries. The project management support provided to the Commission comprises:
  • Providing technical support to the monitoring of projects co-financed by LIFE
  • Assessing the administrative, technical and financial implementation of the projects, Assisting and coaching project beneficiaries.
  • Conducting ex-post evaluations
  • Preparing monitoring and assessment reports
  • Providing support to dissemination activities
Prospect is the main partner in a consortium set-up in a EEIG (Astrale) and deals with the projects in two EU sub-regions: Benelux and South-East MS: Greece, Cyprus and Bulgaria, as well as in some third countries: Tunisia and Morocco. Prospect hosts the entire coordination team in its Brussels office and has provided 4 out of the 6 staff members of this co-ordination team.

Realisation of a Carbon-Statement in the frame of the “CO2 Strategy” of the Belgian Technical Co-operation (BTC)

In line with their eco-management system, BTC has to set-up a CO2 strategy in order to address the climate change issue in its own operatins. As such, Prospect was contracted to carry out a study that will calculate the CO2 emissions of every activities of the BTC. The assignment covered the following:
  • Write a report of the CO2 emissions related to BTC’s activities for the headquarter in Brussels as well as their delegations in beneficiary countries;
  • Suggest a CO2 policy with a mid-term and long-term strategy in order to reduce and compensate the CO2 emissions. The final objective is to have a neutral balance for BTC’s CO2 emissions;
  • Design a monitoring and evaluation system; and
  • Contribute to the internal communication on the CO2 issue and to the diffusion of the information.
