Formulation of the project “Solid waste management in the urban area of Mascara”
The global objective was to “improve the environmental conservation through an improved management of the urban solid waste” for Mascara in Algeria. The specific objectives of the project were (i) to improve the waste collection and elimination; (ii) the suppression of fly-tipping and decontamination of the illegal waste dumps; (iii) the creation of controlled waste dumps in accordance with Algeria’s environmental rules and standards. Prospect’s role was to formulate the solid waste management project for the urban area by developing the financial and technical documents for the project, and evaluating the required resources (human, material and financial).

Formulation of a new micro-realisation programme (PMR2) in the frame of the 10th EDF
The purpose of the PMR is to strengthen the capacities of rural communities and of civil society in general. The micro-realisations, supported by this programme, are mainly centred on rural infrastructure developments that aim to improve the livelihood of rural populations through:
- realisations related to agricultural trade activities: roads, markets;
- realisations related to water use and consumption : wells, pumps;
- realisations related to health and social services infrastructures.
Prospect completed this assignment using a two-step approach:
- Evaluation of the first micro-realisation programme (PMR1). Analysis of the main issues and recommendations for the new programme.
- Elaboration of the new micro-realization programme (PMR2) :
- elaboration of the action fiche
- Technical and administrative arrangements
- Logical framework
- Provisional budget plan and work plan

Final Evaluation of the National Component of the Sustainable Nutrition Rehabilitation Programme (SNRP)
Prospect was in charge of the technical review of the Integrated Nutrition and Food Security Surveillance System (INFSSS). This involved a rigorous evaluation of the statistical underpinning of the surveillance system, including its: accuracy, coverage, relevance, timeliness, and appropriateness for decision making.

Inventory of tools and guidebooks from selected areas of the Intelligent Energy Programme
The project’s objective was to increase the dissemination of results achieved under the Intelligent Energy-Europe (further “IEE”) programme by ensuring that tools and guidebooks developed are widely communicated and used across Europe.
The work carried out by Prospect and it partners consisted of:
- the identification of tools and guidebooks,
- the assessment of these tools and guidebooks and
- build of a website for the compilation of those in a thematic collection
The thematic areas covered by the inventory are:
- Energy efficiency in industry
- Local energy management
- Renewable heating and cooling, small-scale renewables and bio-fuels applications
- Energy aspects of transport

Institutional support project to the Ministry of Agriculture Livestock and Fisheries (MAEP) in the framework of the Development Support and Agricultural Sector Promotion Program in Benin
Prospect was contracted to carry out the formulation mission of the Institutional support project to the Ministry of Agriculture Livestock and Fisheries (MAEP). This was in the framework of the Development Support and Agricultural Sector Promotion Programme in Benin. The purpose of this project was to strengthen the MAEP in its facilitation and regulation role for the agricultural sector by building its capacities and learning process.

Strengthening of environmental monitoring system, Albania
The project – in which Prospect was a partner – had several main objectives of this project. Firstly to establish, consolidate and update an effective environmental monitoring system; that is capable of tracking the status of the environment. And secondly the improvement of data quality, through the development of an up-to-date, cost-effective, sustainable and fully integrated environmental monitoring system. As such the system put in place was based, as a general reference framework, on the environmental norms and directives of the EU.

Study and recommendations on Air Quality Data Modelling and Exchange
Prospect was contracted by the European Environment Agency (EEA) to carry out a study on Air Quality Data Modelling and Exchange and to formulate recommendations following the Shared Environmental Information System (SEIS) principles. The primary purpose of the project was to improve the exchange of Air Quality Data from the local level to the EEA level (Airbase).
