Recipes at COP 12
Draft results of RECIPES were presented at the 12th session of the Conference of the Parties to the Climate Change Convention (COP 12), organised by UNFCCC in Nairobi, Kenya on 6-17 November 2006.
In the session of Friends of the Earth International on 15 November 2006, entitled “Learning lessons of community resilience: successes and barriers to reducing vulnerability”, Donald Pols of Friends of the Earth Netherlands referred to the RECIPES work. He presented the draft results of the RECIPES survey on the socio-economic impact of renewable energy in emerging and developing countries. This survey, held amongst 123 energy experts of emerging and developing countries, showed that these experts rate renewable energy technologies significantly higher than traditional energy technologies in terms of positive socio-economic impact in their countries. The forthcoming RECIPES final report will include the detailed results of the survey.
