Two Framework Contracts Awarded: Republic of Congo and Malawi
Prospect C&S, along with its' partners Safege (FR) and Transtec (BE), have been selected by EuropeAid for two recent framework contracts: 1) Elaboration of the Environmental Profile of the Republic of Congo, and 2) A strategic environmental assessment of the sugar sector in Malawi.
Congo - Our experts will develop an Environmental Profile of the country which will identify and evaluate the major environmental questions in the Republic. They will provide the Republic of Congo, the European Commission and other funding agencies, clear information on the environmental issues as well as its politics, strategies and programmes concerned. The report will also give the possibility to make a commitment by the country in terms of environmental protection and actions to be undertaken.
Malawi – Our experts will describe, identify and assess the likely significant effect that the ‘Sugar Accompanying Measures’ (SAM) may have on the environment. The work will also assess the degree to which the initiatives address the major environmental sustainability in challenges in the sector. They will provide recommendations at a strategic level on how potential negative effects can be minimized and how positive effects can be optimized. Findings and recommendations will be taken into consideration for the implementation current and future Multi Annual Support Strategy (MIP) for Malawi.
